I was born in Ukraine and still have family outside Kyev. After the war started I signed up for the Ukrainian Civil Defense Force. I called the embassy about a hundred times and never got through. More recently a friend went to Ukraine to fight, and he was turned away at the border. It is impossible to enter the country now, and they seem to have enough soldiers.

I will keep tabs on the situation throughout the summer. I expect they will need fighters, construction workers, and farmers. I am ready to help my people. Once I leave the Downtube will be in good hands....better hands than mine :)
