Food & drinks for cycling

In my youth I was a MTB racer, my life revolved around racing. Everything I did was intended to go faster on a bike, this included food intake. I became a vegetarian because it was easier to digest light food. Meat was harder on my body and weighed me down. I ended up eating lots of carbs, fruits, and veggies. Hydration is also of major importance. I liked mixing acidic drinks with bases to get neutral pH.

Unfortunately, I am no longer a vegetarian, however I hope to get back on that path.
