Speedplay is a top pedal manufacturer and has been for decades. I was a mountain biker and purchased a set of Speedplay Frogs, after using many MKS and Shimano SPD pedals. At first, I loved the float the Speedplay's, however they didn't work out.

On my second cross country trip I lost a bolt from a cleat. Speedplay distribution is heavily controlled, so getting a pedal bolt is nearly impossible. I ended up using a cleat bolt from a different manufacturer. Unfortunately this made my foot crooked, and I didn't know. I kept using the horrible pedals until my body broke down from misaligned knee, hip, back, and foot issues. Over twenty years later I am still suffering from the misalignment issues.

Overall, I think Speedplay makes nice pedals, but I would stay away from their entire product lineup.
