Falling on a Folding Bike

I have taken many falls over the years. Eventually I learned to fall with grace and incur no damage to my body. I shared  this with my kids, and it makes sense to share publicly.

Once you understand you are falling push the handlebars into the ground, keeping the hands on the bar. This will protect your hands, arms, and shoulders from injury.

As one falls it is common for the riders knee on the falling side to make impact before the bike. This will lead to knee injuries. Learn to tuck your knee into the center of the frame, this way the pedal and crank will contact the ground first, absorbing the major part of the impact.

Always stay safe, if you fall do it with grace and minimize the risk of injury.
