Google Search Quality

Google is charging for organic search results

Google was a great search engine, so they developed a dominant position in the market.

Times have changed, and google searches are horrible. Google rewards advertising with higher organic search ranking ( this is against Google's claimed objective 20 years ago).

Let's focus on searches of folding bike ( or any closely related search such as folding bikes, folding bicycle, folding bicycles ). Dahon created this industry, and they were #1 for over a decade on all search engines. We were on page 1 for over a decade. Now Dahon ranks in the teens, while we are in the 30 range ( page 4 ). On its own this is not a problem, however when you look at the sites above us things get strange.

Citizen bike started around 2006 and has remained at the low end of the market. Ternbicycles started around 2012. Both of these website rank at or near the top on folding bike searches. However both have low page load speeds, have many less pages, images and videos than many other sites. Greenzonebikes has not changed their site in about a decade...it is very poor. It has nearly no content, but consistently comes up on page 2. These sites have very low audit ranking under standard SEO tools.

Decathalon and Evans cycles are not in the USA, however they consistently come up on page 2 on USA searches. Additionally these sites have slow page load speed and poor folding bike ranking under any SEO tool.I fail to understand how a website that has been in operation since 1996 ( the oldest in the industry ) with the most webpages, images, and videos, top pageload speed, and highest site audit rank falls behind sites with under 20 pages and nearly no images/content. This all led me to believe that Google is rigging their searches. Then I get a phone call from a Google sporting goods advertising rep ( he works for Google ). He tells me that for 15k per month he will guarantee top organic searches....this is immoral ( possibly illegal ). I promptly tell him to take a hike. Blackmail is blackmail.

Don't take my word for it. Check google rankings, for any field in which you are an expert. Post the results below.
