Downtube mini chain drive folding bike

Super Compact, Super Economical & Super Cool

The Downtube Mini Chain Drive Folding Bike is the most economical 16" wheel bike It is identical to the miniB except for a Sturmey Archer 8sp hub & a KMC stainless steel chain instead of a belt drive system. The ultra-compact size of the Mini and its lightweight make it the perfect travel bike. Fitting the Downtube Mini into your vehicle or even your luggage is super easy.

Despite its small size, the Downtube Mini is punching way above its weight. Its 8 speed Sturmey Archer internal hub provides a wide gear range, which makes it ride like a bigger wheel model. As the Downtube Mini's internal hub doesn't have any external gears, it is completely maintenance-free. Adjustment is super easy to keep it shifting smooth.

The braking system is also top-tier. The V brakes allow for a smooth and fast stopping that is similar to that of other more expensive, bigger bikes. All of those features in such a small frame mean that the Downtube mini packs like a small bike and rides like a big one, giving you the best of both worlds.

To make the Downtube Mini even more convenient for your everyday use, it has a rack, rear fender, and kickstand that are included.

Whether you're heading out for a long ride, taking it on an international flight or keeping it on your boat, you'll be impressed with what this cool little, maintenance-free bike has to offer.

Awesome little bike

I bought a Mini about 15 years ago, and used it to commute to college in Manhattan. Now my ten-year-old insists on riding it, and after adjusting the seat she's cooking with gas. Has held up extremely well with minimal maintenance, and have never had to replace anything. I cracked open the 8sp Sturmey Archer gearshifter in a fall a decade ago, so it's exposed to the elements, but still works fine. Very solid purchase.

Good Things Come In Small Packages

I've owned this model of Downtube's mini for three years of hard use--and it's not only held up but is probably the best bike I've ever owned. And, of course, it's fun, too..
