Taipei Bike Show 2008

I have attended bicycle trade shows for about 15 years. Including the last six Interbike shows and four of the last five Taipei Cycle shows. There has been minimal product changes at the shows over the last few years. Notable exceptions are the development of carbon fiber bikes/components, electric bikes, and chainless/internal hub development.

Location: The show was held at the recently built ( still unfinished ) Nangang Exhibition Center ) with the Tour de Taiwan finishing the 3/15/08 stage across from the convention center.

Folding Bicycles: Most interesting were full titanium (Minimax) & carbon (Ubike) bicycles. Most impressive were Onipax hinge it is angles for largest possible contact area.

High end Folders

Carbon Bikes: As usual these were beautiful. Isaac, Trigon, Carbotec, Karbona and more led the sexy new bikes.

Hubs/Drivetrains: NuVinci seems to have the best new hub on the market. Delta is selling their non chain drivetrain OEM, I expect this will take off on many internal hub bikes in the coming years.
